Since the first edition in 2021, the MA-g Awards have brought together an international jury of practitioners, editors, and past winners to review thousands of submissions across three disciplines. Each category is chaired by a single leading figure, whose name the award carries for that year.
All entries undergo a two-stage evaluation: an initial review by category, followed by a shortlist presented to the full jury. Winning and highly-commended work is acquired into the Contemporary Collection, exhibited, and published in the Journal alongside a short statement from the artist.
